Kingfishers are widespread in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, but are not common anywhere. Population numbers change from year to year, depending on the severity of the winter. The kingfisher's hunt takes only about 0.3 seconds from diving into the water to surfacing. This is a real challenge for photographers!
