The red kite and the black kite are widespread in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park. While the black kite can mostly be seen on the banks of lakes and rivers, where it flies along the banks to look for food, the red kite can be seen over fields. However, if there is carrion somewhere or a meadow is mown in summer, numerous black kites and red kites appear in a short time in search of food.
